The Iowa College Foundation (ICF) proudly announces the appointment of Rett Smith, at American Pop Corn Company, to its Board of Governors.
Founded in 1914 and headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa, the family-owned company is best known for its Jolly Time brand, sold nationally and internationally. American Pop Corn Company has a long history of supporting the Iowa College Foundation and Iowa’s independent colleges.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rett to the Board of Governors,” said Ed Finn, President of the Iowa College Foundation. “His perspective as a leader in Iowa’s food industry and his commitment to workforce development will enhance our efforts to ensure students at our 22 member colleges are well-prepared for careers in key industries.”
Smith joins a 57-member Board of Governors composed of 35 business representatives and the 22 presidents of Iowa’s independent colleges.
“Education has the power to transform lives and communities,” Smith said. “I’m excited to contribute to ICF’s work in supporting Iowa’s independent colleges and helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.”
