Grand View Launches Athletic Training Master's Program

Dec 03, 2019

Grand View University announced the launch of a 3+2 Master’s Degree in Athletic Training. This master’s degree program began at Grand View in fall 2017, meeting the new requirements by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education whereby all athletic training programs will move to the graduate level by 2022. With the new MSAT 3+2, students who are interested in becoming an athletic trainer can now combine their kinesiology degree with a Master of Science in Athletic Training and complete both in five years. The change will streamline the process for students to graduate with both a BA in kinesiology and an MSAT. Christopher Viesselman, program director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training, said the new 3+2 program opens up opportunities for other programs to develop similar opportunities.
